The Super Mat w/ a Built-in Silicone Weather Barrier
The same Super Mat blanket come with a silicone-topcoat.
Achieve the same thermal properties and rugged versatility of Super Mat while reducing cost and schedule when the operating does not demand protection from mechanical abuse or animal attack.
Flexible, UV-resistant, and rain-proof
Well-proven with decades of outdoor industrial exposure under its belt, silicone is well known as a robust, rain-proof, high-performing polymer with excellent resistance to ultra-violet (UV) light.
The 1 mm nominal thickness of this seamless, continuous silicone is designed to resist the penetration of fractured water droplets which forcefully impact the surface.
Cost and schedule benefits with “built in” jacket
The highest material cost component of an industrial insulation system is the metallic or the non-metallic weather jacket.
When suitable for the operating environment, use of a Super Mat product with a built-in weather barrier as the outer layer of an insulation system will allow for elimination of:
For Personnel Protection — Additional cost savings of a non-metal surface
Save additional cost on insulation for personnel protection. Here’s how it works:
Third party laboratory testing per ASTM C1057* was completed to determine the skin sensation (touch) temperature vs. the actual temperature of the non-metallic surface for various “operating” temperatures created by a hotplate.
The testing was undertaken at PolyLabs in Houston, Texas in August 2018.
Results of this testing can be found in the dropdown menu under the Resources tab. See Thermesthesiometer (Skin Sensation) Testing.
